5 Signs of a Quality Solar Panel
What to look for when evaluating solar panel manufacturing quality.
Not all solar panels are created equal. Learn the five hallmarks of a well-made module before you sign an order.
1. EL Testing Results
Electroluminescence imaging reveals micro-cracks invisible to the naked eye. A reputable manufacturer should share EL images from your batch on request.
2. Flash Test Data
Every panel should come with its own flash test report showing actual wattage output — not just the label rating.
3. Robust Lamination
Proper encapsulation protects cells from moisture and thermal stress. Check for uniform edge seal and consistent backsheet quality.
4. Certifications That Hold Up
IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certifications matter. Verify they are issued by an accredited lab and valid for the market you are selling into.
5. Warranty That Means Something
A 25-year performance warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Look for transparent terms and a manufacturer with a track record.
